Strategic Consulting, Elevated

I'm not an observer. I'm an operator.

Twenty years inside adult social care. Not consulting on it — working in it, managing it, living through every CQC inspection, every staffing crisis, every safeguarding incident that lands on a registered manager's desk at 6am.

The Origin

I spent 20 years inside adult social care. Not advising on it — working in it. I've been the carer, the team leader, the registered manager, and the person CQC walks past in the corridor during an inspection.

I've seen services rated Outstanding. I've seen services put into special measures. The difference between the two is almost never about caring more. It's about having the systems, the leadership, and the operational discipline to hold the line when things get hard.

"Most services don't fail because people don't care. They fail because there is no operational control. Caring without systems is chaos. I bring both."

I currently hold a senior operational and compliance role at a multi-site care provider. That role means the knowledge I bring to every engagement is grounded in what CQC is doing right now — current methodology, current inspection triggers, current risk-based prioritisation. Not historical knowledge, not theory. Practice.

Out of Ordinary Space exists because I take on a limited number of engagements alongside that role — and I take them on because the sector needs people who will tell the truth, not validate what providers already believe.

What I bring to every engagement

CQC INSPECTION EXPERTISE

I know how inspectors think, what they probe, and what the gap looks like between Requires Improvement and Good — from standing inside it.

MULTI-SITE OPERATIONS

Group compliance is different from single-site compliance. I understand how risk multiplies across sites and how governance breaks down at scale.

WORKFORECE & SAFEGUARDING

Staffing instability and safeguarding failures are what CQC focuses on hardest in re-inspection. I've managed both under real operational pressure.

CURRENT, ACTIVE KNOWLEDGE

I work in compliance now. My knowledge of CQC's methodology, risk-based prioritisation and inspection triggers is current — not retrospective.
